Demonstrators Appear At Omaha Public Schools' Headquarters

The demonstrators called for the start of high school sports and extracurriculars in the Omaha Public School District.

Dozens of students, parents and supporters gathered outside the O-P-S Teacher Administration Center to voice their opinions.

The "T-A-C" building is the former Omaha Tech High School building, and one of the Trojans' most famous alums, 1972 Heisman Trophy winner and Husker legend Johnny Rodgers took part in support of the cause.

Monday's rally came after the district sent a letter to parents stating the decision to cancel the fall sports and extracurriculars due to COVID-19 remains in place, though officials acknowledge the frustration and disappointment of the young people.
