Overnight Omaha Brushfire Impacts Busy Rail Line

Firefighters early Wednesday controlled the large brushfire between Interstate 80 and the Union Pacific Railroad tracks in the Westgate area of Omaha near 84th Street.

For a time, Union Pacific trains on their mainline up on what the railroad calls the "Lane Cut Off," that fill taking the railroad across the Papillion Creek watershed In Omaha, were stopped.
