Voter registration deadline nears for November election

The deadline to register to vote for the November 3rd election is coming up.

The Douglas County Election Commissioner, Brian Kruse, is reminding residents that if they want to vote in the upcoming election, they need to get registered and soon.

Those still wanting to register to vote have until Friday, October 16th to register in the following ways:

  • Deadline for online registrations must be made prior to midnight.
  • Deadline for mailed registrations to be postmarked.
  • Deadline for voter registration at DMV offices, state agencies, Omaha Public Library locations, or by deputy registrars.
  • Deadline for voter registration forms to be delivered to the election office by someone other than the person registering.

“Friday, October 16, 2020 is the deadline to register to vote using any method other than coming to the Election Commission office in person,” said Brian W. Kruse, Douglas County Election Commissioner. “If voters miss this deadline, they can still register in person at our office until 6:00 p.m., Friday, October 23, 2020.”

Voters may confirm their voting information, such as political districts and polling place as well as view their sample ballot, by visiting the Election Commission website at www.votedouglascounty.com and entering their house number and zip code in the “Find Your Voting Information” area or by calling (402) 444-VOTE (8683) during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
