Voter registration deadline approaching for April primary election

(Douglas County, NE) -- The deadline to get registered to vote ahead of the Omaha city primary elections in April is fast approaching.

The Douglas County Election Commission says those who plan to register by mail, at a city government office or online must do so by Friday, March 19th.

“Friday, March 19, 2021 is the deadline to register to vote using any method other than coming to the Election Commission office in person,” said Brian W. Kruse, Douglas County Election Commissioner. “If voters miss this deadline, they can still register in person at our office until 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2021.”

All registered voters who reside within the City of Omaha boundaries are eligible to vote in the Primary Election on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Voters may confirm their political districts by visiting the Election Commission website at www.votedouglascounty.com and entering their house number and zip code in the “Find Your Voting Information” area or by calling (402) 444-VOTE (8683) during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
