Omaha Police investigate shooting that left one man with injuries

(Omaha, NE) -- The Omaha Police Department is investigating following an early morning shooting.

OPD says just before 1:00 Wednesday morning, officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert near 16th Street and Laird. Investigators say once on the scene, officers found two vehicles with damage from gunfire. Police say officers spoke with witnesses who said four or five black males dressed in dark clothing arrived on foot and began shooting.

The police department says, short time later, a victim arrived at CUMC - University Campus, with minor injuries. The victim was identified as 22 year old Da'Marsell Miller.

Investigators say Miller told officers that he was in a vehicle when an unknown suspect began firing a gun in his direction. The investigation is ongoing.
