(Omaha, NE) -- A man charged in connection to a woman's murder is extradited back to Omaha from Kansas.

The Omaha Police Department says 46 year old Ralph Bullard was already in custody at the Leavenworth County Sheriff's Office in Leavenworth, Kansas on charges unrelated to the homicide when he became a suspect in 23 year old Leah Verratti's death. On Thursday, August 5th, the Omaha Police Department Homicide Unit was notified by Council Bluffs Police that their officers had discovered a body in Fairmont Park earlier that week. OPD says through their investigation, it was determined that Verratti's death had occurred in Omaha. They also determined at that time, that Bullard was in custody in Kansas.

OPD says homicide detectives were able to locate a crime scene at a storage facility parking lot on the Bil-Den Glass property near Blair High Road and Sorensen Parkway. Bullard has now been booked into the Douglas County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Murder, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, Possession of a Stolen Firearm and Theft Unlawful Taking (Stolen Auto).
