The Nebraska Department of Transportation reports 17 deaths in crashes last month.
The fatalities occurred in 15 crashes;
Two of the fatalities were on the Interstate system, eleven on rural highways, and four on local roads;
In its traffic fatality report for July, N-DOT says eight of the victims were not wearing seat belts.
They also say two victims were pedestrians, and one was killed in a crash involving a train.
