JoJo Domann named Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Week

(Lincoln, NE) -- For the second time this season, a Husker is named a Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.

On Monday, the Big Ten announced that Nebraska Senior Linebacker JoJo Domann was the Co-Defensive Player of the Week, sharing the honor with David Ojabo from Michigan. Domann recorded a career-high two sacks, two forced fumbles and led the Huskers defense with nine tackles in Nebraska’s 56-7 win over Northwestern. Domann helped lead a Nebraska defense that allowed its fewest points in a Big Ten game since 2019.

With Northwestern threatening in the second quarter on the Nebraska 1, Domann forced a fumble to help prevent a Wildcats score. He is also one of just six FBS players to record at least two sacks and two forced fumbles in a single game in 2021 and is the only FBS player to record at least nine tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles in a game this season. This is the first time Domann has earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor in his collegiate career.

Earlier this season, Luke Reimer was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week in Nebraska's 28-3 win against Buffalo.
