Omaha American Legion Detachment Raises Money For Highway Signs

A Nebraska "Sons of The American Legion" detachment presents a four thousand dollar check to Nebraska's "Medal of Honor Foundation."

The money will help place signs along U.S. Highway 20 in northern Nebraska to honor Nebraska Medal of Honor recipients.

“For us Sons that may not have served, I mean it’s everything for us to be able to give back to our communities so to know we’re part of something bigger than ourselves. It’s huge, it’s a huge feeling, a big sense of accomplishment and honor to do things,” Detachment Commander Chris Casey tells 6 News.

Governor Pete Ricketts dedicated the Cornhusker State's portion of Highway 20 as Nebraska's Medal of Honor Highway in January 2020.
