Nebraska Governor Signs New Executive Order On Hospital Staffing

Governor Pete Ricketts issues an executive order to increase access to health care services in Nebraska.

To help overcome staffing shortages and better handle coronavirus cases, the Governor says the order temporarily suspends various state statutes so that health care facility administrators and practitioners such as audiologists, alcohol and drug counselors, and speech pathologists can more easily treat patients in Nebraska.

The new order supplements one, which the Governor issued this past August when declaring a hospital staffing emergency.

It is effective immediately and will remain in force through the end of the year unless renewed.
