Papillion La Vista Community Schools Adjust Mask Rules

The Papio-LV School Board votes to end the mask mandate at the high school level beginning Wednesday when it will become only a recommendation for high schoolers.

The board will consider a similar move for middle school students at its Nov. 8th meeting.

If that gets an okay, it would go into effect two days later.

The board would consider the same procedure at its Dec.13th meeting for elementary school students, to be effective in early January when the kids come back from break.

Board members Monday looked over numbers that showed the peak of cases among students in the district so far this school year was 82 in the third week of school.

The mask mandate was implemented, and since then, the number of cases has dropped off.
