(Pottawattamie County, IA) -- An 83 year old Pottawattamie County woman is found dead in her home Sunday morning.
The Pottawattamie County Sheriff's Office says around 7:45 Sunday morning, deputies were called to the 400 block of Timber Drive for a domestic disturbance with a possible shooting victim. Once on the scene, deputies made contact with 86 year old Harvey Rankin who was suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators say once Deputies entered the home they found 83 year old Bonnie Rankin dead inside. Harvey Rankin was taken to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, with a deputy following behind the ambulance and placing a law enforcement hold on Harvey Rankin.
The investigation is ongoing. Sheriff’s Office investigators will be working with the Pottawattamie County Attorney’s Office regarding any criminal charges.
