Airbnb to crack down on New Year's Eve parties at Omaha rentals

(Omaha, NE) -- Airbnb says they will be cracking down on guests renting Omaha properties for New Year's Eve parties.

Airbnb says the effort is going on nation-wide, including here in the metro. The company says guests without a history of positive reviews on Airbnb are prohibited from making one-night reservations in entire home listings. As NYE approaches, Airbnb says they will also begin deploying more stringent restrictions on two-night reservations that may pose heightened risk for disruptive parties. Guests who have a history of positive reviews on Airbnb are not subject to these restrictions.

In a release, Airbnb said, "This ongoing crackdown has been well-received by our Host community. Based upon their feedback, we’re announcing today that we will beef up this anti-party initiative even further and expand it to include three-night reservations as well. We are publicly communicating this initiative to help support our Omaha Hosts and send a message to would-be partiers that we won’t tolerate that type of behavior on our platform."
