(Omaha, NE) -- Both a burn ban and red flag warning are in effect for Douglas County and surrounding areas.
Most of central and eastern Nebraska are under the Red Flag Warning from the National Weather Service on Friday. The weather service says any fires that start will spread rapidly and be very difficult to control, due to high winds and dry conditions.
Meanwhile, the Douglas County fire chiefs have again issued a burn ban. They are asking people to avoid activities that could lead to an ignition.
