Voter registration deadline approaches for Douglas County voters

(Omaha, NE) -- The registration deadline for those wanting to vote in the 2022 Statewide Gubernatorial Primary Election is approaching.

The Douglas County Election Commission says Friday, April 22nd is the deadline for the following ways to register:

  • Online registrations: By midnight
  • Mailed registrations
  • Registration at DMV offices, state agencies, Omaha Public Library locations, or by deputy registrars.
  • Voter registration forms to be delivered to the election office by someone other than the person registering.

“Friday, April 22, 2022 is the deadline to register to vote using any method other than coming to the Election Commission office in person,” said Brian W. Kruse, Douglas County Election Commissioner. “If voters miss this deadline, they can still register in person at our office until 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2022.”

Registered voters of all political party affiliations are eligible to vote in the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Voters can confirm their polling place and political districts by visiting the Election Commission website here and entering their house number and zip code in the “Find Your Voting Information” area or by calling (402) 444-VOTE (8683) during business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.).
