One person killed in Lancaster County crash

(Lancaster County, NE) -- One person is dead following a Tuesday crash in Lancaster County.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says just before 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, deputies were called to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of 70th and Revere Lane in Lincoln. The sheriff's office says the initial investigation shows that the two vehicles involved were traveling in opposite directions on 70th Street and collided head-on. The driver of one vehicle suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Bryan Health West Campus where they were pronounced deceased.

The Lancaster County Attorney's Office has ordered an autopsy. LSO says alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Seatbelts were in use by the surviving driver of the crash, but not by the driver killed. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and are continuing to investigate the details of the crash. Release of names are pending notification of next of kin
