Omaha Man Sentenced for Producing Child Pornography

(Omaha, NE) -- An Omaha man is sentenced to 15 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.

The United States Attorney's Office says that on Wednesday, 33 year old Phillip Gonzales was sentenced to 180 months’ imprisonment. After his release from prison, he will begin a 5-year term of supervised release and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Federal prosecutors say around September 2020, a 16-year-old girl who had run from home met Gonzales and his co-defendant in Omaha. Investigators say Gonzales and the minor developed a relationship. Meanwhile, the girl also engaged in prostitution. Prosecutors say Gonzales took a series of photographs and videos of the girl depicting, among other things, oral sex and posing lasciviously.

The images were recovered after the Omaha Police Department conducted a traffic stop of Gonzales and the girl and learned she was being trafficked. Gonzales pled guilty in February to producing child pornography.
