(Carter Lake, IA) -- Ground is broken on Monday on a 60,000 square foot expansion of Prairie Flower Casino in Carter Lake, Iowa.

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska says the expansion will allow for a larger gaming floor, multiple dining options for guests, a sports book, and a retail area. The ground breaking on the second phase of Prairie Flower Casino comes as the Ponca Tribe celebrates the 32nd anniversary of the Ponca Restoration Act and the 4th anniversary of Prairie Flower Casino officially opening.

The expansion of Prairie Flower Casino will include:

  • A full feature sports book with a gastro pub
  • Multiple dining options
  • A featured center bar
  • Retail space

“The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska’s investment in the Prairie Flower Casino has allowed our Tribe to increase critical services – like healthcare, job training and cultural preservation – for our Members, while providing high quality entertainment in Carter Lake,” said Rebecca “Becci” Sullivan, Interim Chairwoman of the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska. “Our Tribe views this expansion as an investment in ensuring the long-term sustainability of programs we offer throughout our service area.” The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska service area includes parts of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, including the cities of Lincoln, Nebraska, Omaha, Nebraska, Norfolk, Nebraska, Niobrara, Nebraska, Sioux City, Iowa, and Council Bluffs, Iowa.
