(Douglas County, NE) -- Possible human remains are found near Elkhorn.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says around 3:45 Tuesday afternoon, deputies were called to the area of 216th and Rainwood Road to investigate the discovery of possible human remains. DCSO says while there was no immediate sign of criminal activity, the unconfirmed remains could have been in the area for an extended period of time.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff's Office at 402-444-6000.
